R.I.P. My Motherboard

Yes, unfortunately my beloved ASUS P5N32-E SLI finally crapped out on me after 2+ years of loyal service. You may ask why I am posting this on my script's website rather than on my personal site. Well that's a good question, and the answer is that because of my mobo going down I am going to be unable to work on the script or any of my websites until I get the replacement motherboard from ASUS. I am thinking it will be middle to late next week until I can get the replacement board and get it up and running. At least on the bright side it allowed me to break out my OLD (circa 2002) laptop and pop Ubuntu 9.04 on it. I don't trust it to be stable enough to run the IDE that I use to develop the script, Aptana. I do have an e-mail client running and have basic functionality so if you need any help with the script you can contact me and I will help you as best I can.

I apologize if this inconveniences anyone, but obviously it is out of my hands. So far ASUS has been really good about the RMA and fortunately the board was still under full warranty. I expect the migration to go relatively seamless and it will allow me to put the 4GB of RAM back into the system and run Vista Ultimate x64 instead of the 32-bit version, which is always a good thing for system performance. As always I will keep you updated with whats going on.

ASUS has received my motherboard and hopefully they’ll send out the replacement ASAP.

Just checked the status on my RMA and it is in the “final testing” stage. This is the last stage until they ship it (or its replacement) back. Assuming they ship it on Tuesday then I should get it on Thursday. So I will be back then and able to work on the script.

I appreciate your patience during this time.
